About Us

Owners and operators Juan and Frankie Luna opened Luna’s Restaurant February 7th, 1997 on the ground level of the Hunt Tower in downtown Gainesville, Georgia. Their mission is to offer the area’s residents a restaurant serving the best American cuisine with a Continental flair. Each year, in operation, Luna’s has consistently increased its patronage. Furthermore, Luna’s has become a household name in catering. Over the years we have catered some of Gainesville’s most memorable events – art openings, graduation ceremonies, victory parties for political candidates, the Governor’s fund-raisers, the inauguration of our Chamber of Commerce and the 33rd International Canoe Federation Flatwater Racing World Championships, to mention a few. On a more intimate level we have been tremendously successful in catering rehearsal dinners, weddings and personal celebrations of all kinds. In February of 2000, Luna’s opened Gainesville’s very first Piano Lounge featuring live entertainment Friday and Saturday nights. The Piano Lounge offers luxuries unmatched in the area. It makes for relaxed evenings in an intimate and warm setting. The live music offers something for all music lovers, be they Rock and Roll fans or lovers of Crooners and Broadway musicals to great Jazz music.
Luna’s Restaurant and Piano Lounge has paved its way to become Gainesville and Hall County’s Premier Restaurant with a casual atmosphere.

Our Chef
Chef Albert Luna is a Graduate of Johnson and Wales University. The University is the first school in the country to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in the Culinary Arts and is the world's largest foodservice educator. Albert’s culinary fortes include a variety of cooking styles from American cuisine to a yen for the exotic.
Chef Albert’s accomplishments include working as an apprentice at Les Tuileries, New York City, New York; Line Cook at the Grove Isle, Coconut Grove, Florida; Sous Chef at Fiorello Café, New York City, New York; Sous Chef at Countryside Country Club, Naples, Florida; Head Chef at Artichoke and Co., Naples Florida; Head Chef at Chef de Cuisine, Naples, Florida; Head Chef and Owner of Luna Si, Atlanta, Georgia; and Head Chef at Luna’s Restaurant, Gainesville, Georgia.
Chef Albert has worked for Luna’s Restaurant since 2000. Chef Albert pays close attention to nutritional value in every meal. While delicious, his creations offer well-balanced meals. Chef Albert is also known for his creativity with vegetarian delicacies and healthy alternatives to the preperation of all our dishes.

Luna's Dress Code
Luna’s Restaurant requests that all patrons dress business casual or better. We do not permit shorts, t-shirts or flip-flops. Our dress code is at the discretion of the owners and management.
